This Community Development Administration (CDA) loan will require the owner to occupy the residence. The companies in the list below offer their employees eligibility to participate in the House Keys 4 Employees assistance program. If you work for one of these companies you should know that Maryland Department of Community Development (DHCD) will match participating employer's funds 1:1 up $5,000, totaling $10,000. Additionally Smartkeys for Employees will double the matching contribution to $10,000 totaling $15,000 if the loan is in a priority funding area within 10 miles of their employment.
The following programs offer additional down payment & closings costs assistance in conjunction with House Keys 4 Employees and Smart Keys Employees Programs:
DSELP (Down & Expense Program Settlement Loan Program)
Funds up to an additional $3,500 as a deferred loan at 0% DSELP ONLY Property must be located in City of Baltimore, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, or Harford counties
MMP +2% A grant equal to 2% of the loan amount. The grant is not repayable.
MMP +3% A grant equal to 3% of the loan amount. The grant is not repayable.
If you elect to use either the MMP+2% or MMP+3% programs, you will pay a slightly higher interest rate.
You may select only one of the standard down payment and closing cost assistance programs: the MMP+ 2% or MMP+ 3% Program; or a DSELP loan
Do I have to be a first time home buyer to get a CDA loan?
Borrowers purchasing in Targeted Areas do not have to be a first time home buyer. However, borrowers purchasing in an area that is not designated as “Targeted” area must be a first time home buyer.
What type of home can I purchase?
Eligible home include townhouses, detached or semi detached homes, and condominium units. Modular or manufactured homes that have the State seal of approval code compliance may be financed
